Who I Am
As a student of personal branding I know how important this about page is. Reviewing the analytics for my personal blog, it’s clear the About page is hit by a majority of my first time visitors. And my own personal experience keys me into the fact that I typically visit this page if I’m intrigued by an individual blog post or interesting status update.
If this page fails to impress you or provide a clear picture of Who I Am, I invite you to contact me. I’d love to take you out for coffee, beer, falafel, and (hopefully), provide a clearer glimpse into me.
Rather than a straightforward bio (which is forthcoming, mind you), I thought I’d share some of the philosophies that provide the foundation for what I do. Please to enjoy.

Strategy
It’s amazing how much time and effort is wasted moving in directions that aren’t productive, meaningful or relevant. Before striking off, take the time to know where you’re going, a general idea of how you’re going to get there and clear picture of what “there” actually looks like.
Relationships
As an only child, it was critical that I make and kept friendships. Otherwise afternoons would be spent playing Ninja Turtles with Rico – my imaginary friend and horrible Ninja-Turtle-player. (Ironically, he had no imagination.) That intense drive for relationships is still a fundamental part of who I am. I come alive when getting to know and enjoy the people I work with and I work hard to make sure that enjoyment is mutual.
Pricing
You should know that I hate time-based pricing – with a potentially unhealthy hatred. When you choose to work with me, you have a specific project or goal in mind. What in the world does it matter to you how much time it takes me to accomplish that task, as long as it’s done before your deadline? Either I’m providing value to you or I’m not. Either we accomplished what we set out to do or not.
To that end, I work with a flat fee structure and, hopefully soon, a value-based structure. There will be some blog posts about this soon, so stay tuned for details.
Crowd & Out
Some advertising agencies are quite proud of the fact that they have all of their talent in-house. And they should be – that’s a pretty impressive piece of recruiting and financial security. However, I think there are some benefits to having outside partners that can be pulled in depending upon the individual project. A couple of options include crowd– and out-sourcing. While these ideas have been maligned in the advertising and design community, they afford some pretty incredible opportunities if done correctly.
